  • Emerald Psychotherapy works with adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of challenges, including OCD, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and emotional dysregulation. Connor also provides gender affirming care and has extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community. If you are not sure whether your situation is a good fit, reach out and we can talk through it together.

  • The first session is intentionally kept conversational. There is no pressure to dive into everything at once. It is a chance to get comfortable, ask questions, go over the details of how things work, and start building rapport. The more structured intake typically happens in the second session or so, once there is a foundation in place.

  • Connor draws from several evidence-based approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), and I-CBT (Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). All work is done through a trauma-conscious lens, meaning the impact of past experiences is always considered, and through a relational approach that prioritizes the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for real change. The specific approach in any given session depends on you, your goals, and what is actually working.

  • OCD is often misunderstood. It is not about being neat or organized. It is a cycle of intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that cause significant distress, followed by compulsions that provide temporary relief but keep the cycle going. OCD is one of Connor's primary areas of specialization, and he treats it using ERP, which is the gold standard treatment for OCD, as well as I-CBT, a newer approach focused on the reasoning behind obsessional fears. If you have been told you have OCD or suspect you might, you are in the right place.

  • Yes. Connor works with adolescents and has extensive experience supporting young people across a wide range of settings, from outpatient therapy to inpatient hospital units. Whether you are a parent or guardian looking for support for your teenager, or a young person reaching out on your own, you are welcome to get in touch. Please note that parental consent is required before treatment can begin.

  • Yes. Connor provides letters of support for gender affirming care, including for hormone therapy and surgical procedures. Letters are written in accordance with WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) Standards of Care. As a member of the queer community and an affirming provider, Connor approaches this process with care, respect, and an understanding of what it means to navigate these systems.

  • Provisional licensure means Connor has completed his graduate degree, holds an active therapy license in the state of Nebraska, and is working toward full independent licensure. During this time he practices under clinical supervision, which is a standard and required step in the licensure process. Provisional licensure is not a limitation on competency or the quality of care provided. Connor is a fully trained, licensed therapist with real world clinical training and experience across a range of settings and populations. It is also a mark of transparency, and Connor believes you deserve to know exactly who you are working with.
