Fees & Insurance
Emerald Psychotherapy is committed to making the process of understanding costs and coverage as straightforward as possible. Here is everything you need to know before getting started.
Insurance
Emerald Psychotherapy currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and Molina. If you plan to use insurance, please verify your mental health benefits before your first session. This includes your copay, deductible, and any coverage limitations. You are responsible for understanding your plan and any costs it does not cover.
Please note that using insurance for therapy requires a clinical diagnosis to be on file. If you prefer to keep a diagnosis off the record, self-pay may be a better fit.
If your insurance is not listed above, see the self-pay section below. Some plans also offer out of network benefits, which may allow for partial reimbursement.
Self-Pay
The self-pay rate is $140 per session. Self-pay clients are not required to carry a clinical diagnosis, which is one of the benefits of paying out of pocket. It also offers more flexibility and privacy in your care.
Out of Network Benefits
If Emerald Psychotherapy does not accept your insurance, you may still be able to get reimbursed through your plan's out of network benefits. You can request a superbill, which is an itemized receipt you submit directly to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Contact your insurance provider to find out what your out of network benefits include before your first session.
Payment
All clients are required to keep a valid credit or debit card on file through SimplePractice. Cards are charged one to three business days after your session. HSA and FSA cards are welcome, however a separate credit or debit card must also be kept on file to cover any late cancellation or missed appointment fees.
Good Faith Estimate
As required by law, Emerald Psychotherapy provides all clients with a Good Faith Estimate before services begin. This is a written estimate of the expected cost of your care based on your anticipated treatment. It is not a contract or a guarantee, but it is your right to have it. If you have questions about your estimate, please do not hesitate to ask.
